To all whom 'it may concern:

Be it known that I, JAMEs A. EVANS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Fort Worth, in the county of Tarrant and State of Texas, have invented new and useful Suspensory-Drawers, of which the following is a specification.

It is the object of the present invention to provide an improved under garment and the invention aims more particularly to improve the construction of mens drawers and render them more comfortable to the wearer.

More specifically speaking the present invention contemplates a pair of mens drawers so constructed as to alford support for the testes. Previous efforts made along this line have beengenerally unsatisfactory for many reasons, and particularly have they been unsatisfactory for the reason that they embody pouches having comparatively restricted months, the edges of which irritate and cut the scrotum under natural movements of the body. Further, such pouches are so supported as to render necessary the removal or disengagement of the support from the body when it is desired to evacuate the bowels. In some forms of such devices, it is even diflicult to urinate, without removing or partly removing the garment from which the pouch is supported. In fact, some few of such devices which have been patented involve flaps which draw and hold the scrotum and penis between the limbs of the wearer rendering injury to the testes extremely likely.

In some instances it has been proposed to form or support, upon a pair of drawers, a pouch for the reception of the scrotum and testes but such pouches have a fixed relation to the drawers and cannot be adjusted to the comfort of the wearer except by adjustment of the drawers themselves. As such garments are not adjustable vertically and could not well be so except through the medium of suspenders, such arrangements are not suitable for use.

To overcome the above and other obvious disadvantages I have devised the present invention whereof the accompanying drawing is a view in front elevation. The same consists, briefly stated, in forming in the crotch of one leg of a pair of drawers, a bulged portion which, in the drawing is indicated by the numeral 5. This bulged portion affords, in conjunction with the thigh of the wearer of the garment, a pocket to comfortably and naturally receive and support the testes and penis. This pocket may be constricted to a greater or less degree as desired by means of a thigh embracing strap 6 which passes obliquely upward over the hip bone and is supported upon that leg of the garment in which the bulge is formed, by means of loops 7 upon the said leg, the ends of the strap being connected by a buckle 8 which provides for the adjustment in the length of the strap to the size of the limb of the wearer. It will be obvious that by shifting the intermediate portion of the strap 6 up or down upon the limb, the pocket 5 will be regulated both as to size and depth. Thus means is provided whereby the garment may be adjusted to support the testes and penis regardless of size.

From the foregoing description it will be understood that the pocket provided by the bulge in the leg of the garment cooperating with the limb of the wearer provides means for supporting the testes and penis in proper relation and unseparated by a thickness of cloth. It will further be understood that there is no restricted mouth to the pocket through which the neck of the scrotum must pass. Furthermore, it will be readily understood that in preparing for excretion ofthe feces, the drawers may be lowered in the usual manner after being unbuttoned and with as much ease as with the present garments of ordinary structure. Moreover, in urinating, the penis may be as readily withdrawn as in the use of the ordinary garment.

What is claimed is The herein described suspensory drawers one leg of which has a bulge on its inner side for the purpose set forth, loops secured to this leg, and an obliquely disposed strap passing around said leg, through said loops, under said bulge, and up over the hip bone, and having its ends adjustably connected by a buckle.
