,D in the oidi'naiy inannei' and the vaive F is reisde byoperating the lever' F2 to the required height to allow the pulp to ow under the valve, when the pulp reaches the weir and over the screen of the Fourdrinier section of the machine. When it is desired to raise the end of the Fourdrinier section, all that is necessary is to turn the hand wheel c which turns the nuts c on the screws C and when the Fourdrinicr frame is raised theweir G is raised with it, increasing the height'of the pulp in the section a of the mixing box and allowing a further 'How of the 'pulp over the making wire of the Fomrdrinier machine.
By the above construction the end of the Fourdrinier machine can be raised a considerable distance or lowered. so as to be level or below the level, if desired.
I claim l. The combination in a paper making machine, of a'mixing box, a Fourdrinier frame, a vertically adjustable weir at the discharge end of the box, and means for simultaneously raising the weir and the end of the Fourdrinier machine.
2. The combination in a paper making machine, of a mixing box having a vertically adjustable Weir at the discharge end, a Fourdrinier machine, screws, means for flexibly suspending the Fourdrinier machine from lthe screws, said screws being attached to the weir of the mixing box, bearings for the screws, nuts mounted on the screws, and means for turning the nuts to raise and 'lower the Weir and theFourdrinier frame.`
3. The combination in a paper making machine, of a mixing box, a vertically adjustable Weir at the dischargeA end of the box, a Fourdrinier frame, a making screen on the Fourdrinier frame, and a cloth secured to the Weir and extending 'over the said makintr screen, with means foi-.simultaneously adjusting the frame and Weir.
4. The combination in a paper making machine, offaqmixingbox, a gate valve mounted inthe box, a vertically adjustable 'Weir 'mountedfatfthe discharge end of the box, a` Fourdrinier machine located adja- 'mixing box,
cent to the said Weir, a making screen mounted on the frame, adjusting mechanism at each side of the machine, flexible straps connecting the said mechanism with the frame, rods connecting the weir with the mechanism, and .means for adjusting thel gate of the mixing box.
5. The combinatign in a paper making machine, of a mixing box, a vertically ar- `ranged gate valve located in the box and dividing said lbox into two compartments, a rock shaft, arms on the rock shaft connected to the gate valve, an operating arm secured to the rock shaft, a double pawl pivoted to the arm, and a toothed segment'on the arm of the mixing box' arranged to be engaged by the other end of the pawl.V
