Thus by means'of the hand lever K the gate may be opened whenever necessary to permit the entry of )assen-. gers and subsequently closed an closed, thus effectively revcnting any accidental or piemeditate registration.
\Vhile any suitable registering mechanism" might be employed I prefer to use the mechanism illustrated in detail in Figs. 4, 5 'and j? 6 of the drawings. M is a. suitable dial.
