. tacle which is provided with means that will serve to remind the user that the receptacle contains poison.
In carrying out th 3 objects of the invention generally stated above it will be understood, of course, that the essential features thereof are necessarily susceptible of changes in details and structural arrangements, one preferred and practical embodiment of which is shown in the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure l-is a perspective view of a stopper equipped with the improved indicating at-- tachment. Fig. 2 is a top plan view thereof. Fig. 3 is a vertical sectional'view taken on the line 3-3, Fig. 2. v v
Referring to said accompanying drawings by numerals, it will be seen that the improved indicator comprises a cap that is preferably formed of sheet metal the top 1 of which has slitted portions the material of which is bent inward to provide the attaching prongs 2. 4 Said to l is provided with the annular pendent fia gd 3 the free edge of which flares outward as indicated at 4 to facilitate the placing of a stopper 5 therein so that the prongs 2 will enter said stopper as clearly shown in Fig. 3. The material of which flange 3 is formed is provided with regularly spaced crimped portions which form flat laterally arranged outstanding projections 6 which preferably taper to provide the blunt point 7 The cap is preferably formed of resilient sheet metal so that the flange 3 will tightly embrace the stopper 5, and assist prong '2 in retaining the stopper and cap in rigid but separable relation.
As will be clear, the arrangement of the project-ions 6 is such that they will attract the attention of the user to the bottle, and as an additional safeguard, the top of the cap is provided with the word Poison which is displayed in a conspicuous position so that when projections 6 have attracted the attention of the user, the said word will be a further reminder of the dangerous character of the contents of the bottle.
