Be it known that I, KARL STEEN, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of St. Louis, State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Hair-Drying Brushes, of which the following is a full and clear description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part hereof.

My invention has relation to improvements in hair drying brushes and it consists in the novel details of construction more fully set forth in the specification and pointed out in the claims. I

In the drawings, Figure 1 is a top plan view of my invention; Fig. 2 is a vertical longitndinal view taken on the line A-A of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is a perspective detail of the heating or drying arrangement.

The object of my invention is to provide a simple and efiicient means for drying the hair of a person that has become wet by shampooing or washing. The sun-drying method now generally in use, especially by ladies, is a long and tedious operation and the object of my invention is to provide inexpensive means to facilitate this treatment of the hair.

My invention is simple in operation, and possesses further and other advantages better understood from a detailed description of the invention which is as follows.

Referring to the drawings B represents a conventional hair-brush having an aperture formed through its top central portion adapting the brush to receive the body of a hot-water receptacle 1; the said receptacle being provided with an annular flange portion 2 whereby the receptacle is securely fastened to the brush by means of screws 3, 3 as shown in Fig. 1. The receptacle may be made of any suitable material, preferably rubber, in whole or part, and is provided at its top with a removable screw threaded cap 4.

In operation the cap 4 is removed and the receptacle 1 filled with hot-water after which the cap 4- is replaced and screwed tightly to position; the brush may then be stroked gently in the usual manner through the hair to be dried, and as the operation continues the heat radiation from the hot-- water receptacle will be distributed by means of the brush to the efiect that the hair is evenly and quickly dried and with no liability to harm by fire or scorching.

I do not desire to be limited to the precise form and proportion shown herein, as they may in a measure be departed from without changing the nature or spirit of my invention.

What I claim is 1. An article of the class described comprising a hair brush having an aperture formed through its top central portion, a hot Water receptacle adapted to fit in the said aperture and designed to extend partly through the aperture to the body of the hair brush proper, and means for securing the receptacle to the brush, substantially as set forth.

2. The combination, in a hair brush having an aperture formed through its top central portion, of a hot-water receptacle extending partly through the said aperture to the body of the hair brush proper, the portion of the receptacle extending above the brush being of slightly larger diameter than the lower portion, a removable screw threaded cap for the receptacle, and means for securing the receptacle to the brush, substantially as set forth.
