In a desk stand, the combination with a standard1 and a transmitter case, of a cyliiidei supporting the'transmitter case and a cap supported by the standard, means secured within the cylinder and extending downward within the cap for securing thetwo together, said means being wholly eoncealed when the arts are com ietely assembled, substantial y as'described).

In a desk stand, the combination with a standard, of a cap for said standard having a slot in the top thereof, a transmitter casing having a member tting within said ilot, a pivot, means secured to said member by said pivot to hold said memberlmovable in said slot, said pivot being wholly inside of said cap.

In a desk stand, the combination with a standard, of a cap therefor, a transmitter support movably mounted upon the cap, a tubular member secured within said support and extending downwardly within said cap, a spring sea't, engaging the inner wall of said cap, a spring about said tubular member engaging said seat, and adjustable means se cured to said tubular member and engaging said spring to hold the support in fiictional engagement with the cap, substantially as described.

In a desk stand, the combination with a transmitter casing, of a hollow supporting member therefor, a tubular member extending within the hollow portion thereof and pivoted thereto, and a desk stand cap having portions on each side of the supportinginembei', said portions 'concealing the ends of the pivot, substantially as described.

In a desk stand, the combination with a standard, of a cap therefor, a transmitter supporting lug movably secured in said cap, a tube pivoted in the lug and extending downward inside the cap, a pivot therefor extending through the tube, and lug, said cap having projections concealing the ends of said pivot, substantially as described.

In a telephone desk stand, the combination with a standard, of a cap for said standard, a transmitter ably supported by said cap, and means with-A in the cap for adjustirjr the frictional relation between the cap and transmitter supporting lug, whereby the fixed adjustment of the movable parts can only bechanged by dis-assembling the desk stand, substantially as described.

In a desk stand, the combination with a standard, of a hollow cap therefor formed of pressed metal and having the wall of substantiallv uniformethiekness throughout, the top of uaid cap having a transverse slot supporting lug mov-- therein, a transmitter case having a hoilow cylinderextending therewithfsaid member 1 lower Wall of said cylinder Abeing adapted to engage lche lower edges of said slot, a member pivotally secured at the center of the cylinder and extending downwardly Within' the cap through an opening in the lower side of the cylinder to hold the cylinder in place,
