Be it known that I, LILLA ALLEN, a .citizen of the United States, residing at Allentown, in the county of Vilkinson and State of Georgia, have invented new and useful Improvements in Refrigerators, ofwhich the following is a specification. i

This invention relates to refrigerators and the object of the invention is to provide a novel refrigerating boX with cooling shelves therein which are made hollow to' receive the refrigerating element. l

A further object of the invention is the provision of shelves of this character which .are provided with sockets ory recesses for receiving the receptacles so that said receptacles .are practically surrounded by a refifgeratfihg Aelement.-V

Av-still further object of the invention is the' provision of means for supplying a re-'f frigerating element to the shelves, and means for drawing. off the refrigerating element from the shelves so as to maintain an even temperature yat a miximumrefrigerating degree.

Thetank and shelves may be filled with any suitable refrigerating element such as' iced water or a saline solution which is andv from the shelves, it being noticed that cooled by ammonia vapor or in any other suitable manner. The device may be packed with ice and the shelves adapted to circulate thecold 'air therefrom. y

I also contemplate the use of the device as a irelessrooker, .using -of course boiling water or any other liquid heating element in the tank and Shelves. The material to be cookedis first .boiled in receptacles and then placed in the recesses in the shelves and allowed to remain until cooked in the manner of the ordinarydireless cooker.
