Specification of Letters Patent.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN V. CUNNIFF, a citizen of the United States, residing at Fall River, in the county of Bristol and State of Massachusetts, have invented an Improvement in Let-Off Mechanisms for Looms, of which the following description, in connection with the accompanying drawings, is a specification, like letters on the drawings representing like parts.
The invention to be hereinafter described relates to let-oil mechanisms for looms, and more particularly to the type known as friction let-offs.

- The warp beam 13 has journals 15 pro jecting from the endsthereof, and means are provided to adjust the point of transmission of the weightof the warp beam and its load to the bearing arms 10 of the frictional retarding device. As one means for varying this point of transmission and consequently altering the leverage or frictional retarding effect of the beam, the journals 15 o the warp beam are provided with an adjustable'bearing collar 16 preferably splined thereto, as indicated in 'Fig. 3, and held in adjusted osition longitudinally thereof bymeans 0 a set screw pad 14 on the warp -17 or the like, the construction being such that, upon adjustmentvof the bearing collar 16 to difierent points on the journals 15 of the warp beam, the frictional retarding effect ofthe pad l4;'onthe warp beam will be ment be carried by the journals of the war beam or. by .the bearing arms 10 of sai frictional retarding device.
