The invention relates to apparatus for use iii casting pipes or other articles and par-- ticularl)` .toy means employed inproperly assembling the various part's required in the casting operation.

In order to still further insure the pro" duction of a perfect. casiingof the pipe section it is necessary to accuratelyv center the other end of the-core within the mold. This result is accomplished in accordance with my invention. by forming a collar [hun the core which is designed to hear against the interior surface ot' the mold at the upper or inetal receivingr endot the latter. 'From the foregoing description it will he c seen that unless the flask is properly closed the centering plate will not fitoiito the ends thereof. It will also be seen that the head pattern isinade to rest entirely on machined surfaces so that it is compelled io beperfectly true and absolutely centered. n
