Be it lmown that I, MABEL MARIE IILINE, a citizen of the United States, residing in -London, England, have invented new and useful Improvements in Catamenial Skirt- Protectors, of which the following is a speciication.

This invention relates to aA catamenial skirt protector to be wornby Women, at certain periods, beneath the clothing, over the rear portion of the person. The device is intended to be supplementary to the napkins or bandages worn at such times,

The object of the invention is eilect-ually to protect the skirt or other wearing apparel from staining in the rear.

The protector is apron-like and embodies a flat pocket of a size fully to cover the seat, this pocket having its mouth extending across the top thereof and containing a removable impervious sheet of like extent,

which is removably secured by fastening means extending along its top. Suitable means are provided-for supporting the protector in place on the wearer.-

In these views, the numeral 1 indicates an apron-like protector, 2, supporting means, with the upper preferably a connecte part of the protector, and 9, fastening devices for holding 'the protector close'against the body, such devices preferably being in the nature of straps or loops, pro1ecting laterally in opposite directions from the lower part of the pad and designed to fasten to hose-su porters 4, or other anchorage.

The ower and major part of the protector consists'of a flat pocket of a size :fully to cover the seat portion of the wearer. This pocket comprises walls 6 and 7, secured together at their sides and bottom, as by sewing, leaving a mouth extending across the top of the pocket. 4A water-proof sheet 5, as rubber, rubberfaced cloth, water-proof cloth, mackintosh, chamois leather, etc., :is removably located in the pocket, being of substantially the same area. This impervious sheet is readily and easily inserted through the open top of the pocket, and removed therethrough to facilitate cleansing of the protector.:

A number of apronlike furnished with each removable impervious sheet, so that the sheet may be removed and placed in a fresh cover or pocket whenever' desired.

It will be understood that the protectors may be made of different specific shapes and dimensions. The device may be worn next the skin or not as desired. v

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

An apron-like catamenial skirt protector adapted to be worn over the rear portion'of the person beneath the clothing` comprising a flat pocket of pervious fabric .et a` size fully to cover the seatand having a month extended across its top. a readily rem:, and replaceable impervious sheet of like ex tent received within the pocket, fasteners removably securing the upper edge of said sheet and holding the sheet in the pocket in spread-out condition, and means for snpporting the protector in position over the rear portion of the wearer.
