The valve stein 26 passes through a suitable guide `orifice in the lower wall of the low pressure'ifalve chamber 17, into the high pressure steam chest :'20, and is there connected to one arm of a bell crank lever 2U., the other arm of which is outside of the high pressure steam chest :20 and is arranged io be :ictuated by a .centrifugal governor 30; agovernor spring 31 aeting upon this bell crank and tending to causethe hell crank to follow the stem of the governor when the same is retracted. y
