LOOM-SHUTTLE.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK H. S'rn'rson, a citizen of the United States, residing at Lawrence, in the county of Essex and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in LoomShut-tles, of which the following is a specification.
This invention has reference to an improvement in loom shuttles and more particularly to an improvement in hand threading loom-shuttles.
The object of the invention is to provide a loom shuttle with a hand threading device of simple and durable construction adapted to facilitate the threading of the shuttle by hand without suction.
The invention consists in the peculiar and novel construction of the delivery end of a loom shuttle and mechanism for guiding the thread to the delivery eye, as Wlll bemore fully set forth hereinafter.
Figure l is a top plan View of the thread delivery end of the improved loom shuttle. Fig. 2 is a side View of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a longitudinal sectional view of Fig. 2. 1 is a cross sectional view of Fig. 2. Fig. 5 is a side view of the guide tube. Fig. 6 is an end View of the guide tube, and Fig. 7 is a bottom View of the guide tube.

In operative position the plate 8 is socured 1n the depression f and upon the shoulder Z of the shuttle by the screw 15, so that there will be a slight opening or slot in between the wall of the depression f and the edge of the plate 8. The wire finger 10 is secured near the circular edge of the plate 8 and extends backward until over the slot 13 in the guide tube 12, then down through the slot 13 and the hole 16 in the guide tube 12 and into the hole 1: in the shuttle, thus locking the guide tube 12 in the hole 70 formed in the shuttle.
In threading up the shuttle the yarn passes from the bobbin to the slot m and around the circular end 9 of the plate 8, then down through the slit 9 into the circular hole d and into the recess e, and then down through the slit k, and bein guided by the bent portion of the wire Inger 10 passes into the spiral slot 13 ofthe guide tube outward to the guide eye z.
Having thus described my invention, I claim asnew and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1. A shuttle threading device comprising a tube secured to and extending transversely to the shuttle, and having a ortion of its length formed with a helica slot, and a thread guiding post enetrating said tube and projecting latera ly therefrom at the inner end of said slot.
2. A shuttle threadin device comprisim an eye-piece having a longitudinal threa passage, and a helical thread passa e surrounding and communicating with t e longitudinal passage, and a thread guiding post projecting laterally from the eye-piece at the inner end of the helical passage.
