LESTER MODANIELS, OF SHERIDAN, WYOMING.
BAKER/S OVEN.
To all whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that I, LESTER MCDANIELS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Sheridan, county of Sheridan, and State of lVyoming, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bakers Ovens, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in bakers ovens and has for its objects the production of such an oven adapted to furnish a high and uniform temperature to the oven-chamber; means for steaming the ovenchamber; improved means for permitting discharge of hot air from the oven-chamber when the baker opens the door and means for regulating the temperature of the ovenchamber.
The invention consists in the combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter described and claimed.
My invention will be best understood by reference to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this speciication, and in Which,
Figure 1 is a front elevation of a bakers oven embodying my invention, Fig. 2, a cross section of the same through the chimney fire box thereof, Fig. 3, a partial longitudinal section on line azi-x of Fig. 1, Fig. 4, a section on line y-y o-f Fig. 2, Fig. 5, a section on line 2 2 of Fig. 2, and Fig. 6, an enlarged inside elevation of the door for the escape of the hot air from the oven-chamber.
The oven comprises an exterior furnace casing 1 which may be of any usual or desired material and construction. In casing 1 is mounted the oven-chamber 2 and the fire box 3 and chimney 4 are provided on said casing. The fire box 3 is located centrally under the forward portion of the oven-chamber and the chimney 4 is located centrally over the forward portion of the oven-chamber. Under the oven-chamber are cross fines 5 connected by passages 6 the for- -ward flues 5 communicating directly with fire box 3. At the sides and ends of ovenchamber 2 are vertical flues 7 and 7 respectively connecting the bottom fines with the flue space 8 above the oven-chamber. Flue space 8 is in open communication with the flue 9 of the chimney 4. By this construction it will be seen that the hot products of combustion will be drawn uniformly around both sides of the oven-chamber and over Specification of Letters Patent.

oven, a small quantity of water is permitted to run into pipe 10. This water being converted into steam by the heat of the oven will escape through the perforation 11 and steam the oven.
The door opening 14 of the oven-chamber 2 is provided with a horizontal partition 15 and a counter balanced door 16 is hung to close the lower portion of said opening.
Another door 17 is hung to close the uppera portion of said door opening and provided with arms 18 projecting below partition 15. By this construction it will be seen that when door 16 is opened to its full capacity as indicated by dotted lines in Fig. 3 the door 17 will be forced open by the contact of door 16 with arms 18 and the hot air permitted to escape through the upper portion of the door opening, thus permitting the baker to avoid the same when opening the oven.
The oven-chamber 2 is connected by means of pipes or vents 19 with the chimney flue 9 and dampers 2O are provided in said vents. By means of said dampers 2O it will be seen that variable portions of the hot air in ovenchamber 2 may be permitted to escape into chimney flue 9 and thus the temperature of said oven-chamber may be regulated.
ll/Vhile I have illustratedv and described the preferred construction for carrying my invention into effect this is capable of modiiication or variation without departing from the spirit of the invention. I, therefore, do not wish to be limited to the exact details of construction set forth but wish to avail myself of such variations and modifications as come within the scope of the appended claims.
Having described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
A bakers oven comprising an oven casing; a baking chamber therein and provided with a door opening; a re box, furnace tact with said arms upon swinging in- 10 flues and chimney for heating said oven wardly, substantially as described. chamber; a horizontal partition dividing In testimony whereof I have signed my said door opening into upper and lower naine to this specication in the presence of compartments; a door hinged to close the two subscribing witnesses.
inner end of said upper compartment and vLESTER MCDANIELS. provided with downwardly depending arms; Vitnesses: and a door hinged to close the outer end ofv GLENN L. FOSTER,
said lower compartment and adapted to con-l VILLIAM EADS.
