it known that l, Mismas L. S'mxn, of Iawell, in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented cci;- tain new and useful Improvements m Anti matic wefblieplenishin Looms. of which the following is a speci cation.
The preaent invention is an improvement upon t at act forth in United States Letters l atent No. 02l,ll09, May 18, 1000. and it relatea more articularly to the devices employed for olding the threads of weft-carriers during their occupancy of a maga-ine and prior tu their automatic transfer to the shuttle of the loom when the replenishment of weft is required. In said patent there is described a weft-carrier having a detachable weft-end holder which remains on the weft #carrier during its oeeupane of the magazine and until just prior to tie transfer of the weft -carrier to the shuttle, whereupon automatic mechanism removes the weft-end or thread holder still holding on to the thread so that the thread is hehl dur- .ing the transfer of the. weft-carrier to the' shuttle and during the first llight of the shuttle through the shed. This prior construction has involved the employment of uiekly acting motor mechanismto remove t ie detachable weft pomibility ol' the breakage. of the thread as .the result ofthe wmoval ot the weft-holder.
The primary object of the present invention is to provide n ditl'erent arran rement for taking care of the weft-ends or t treads. In accordance with the pmwnt invention there is provided a separate weftend holder for each bobbin or other weft-carrier, hat the weft-end holder is never conn'e'ctcd direetly to its weft-carrier but traverses its own guideway cmieurwntly with the movement of the weft-carrier prior to its transfer to the loom.
