.Refierringto Fig. 1, 1 represents the casing of a turbine of the elastic fluid type, which may be of the reaction, impact, or other type. In the present illustration my invention is applied to a machine of the Curtis type. Mounted on the front of the turbine casing is a valvechest 2 having an inlet 3 connected with a suitable source of supply.

Referring to Fig. 3, 13 represents the speed governor acting by centrifugal force and inertia to raise or lower the rod 14 as the load changes.
