' Waving Apparatus, of which the following IS a specification.
The present invention pertains to a hair waving apparatus and has for its object to provide an a paratus whereby the waves produced wil be more durable and practically keep, in shape until the hair has grown enough so as to require a new waving.
The apparatus consists of the following four parts: A curler, an asbestos tube to cover up the curl, an electric heater or drier and a protector for the head to protect the seal from the heat and prevent the rest of t e hair from being burned.
To make my invention more clear the same is illustrated in the accompanying drawing in which similar reference letters denote corresponding parts and in which- Figure l s ows the curler in operation, Fig. 2 shows the asbestos tube covering the curl and the rotector. in position and Fig. 3 shows the e ectric drier or heater applied over the asbestos tube. "I-The curler consists of a perforated metal tube a. I prefer to use an aluminum tube because of its being a good conductor of heat and its light weight.

In addition to this solution it may be advantageous in some cases to use a few drops of acetic acid. When the curl is thus wet-ted it is put while still wet on the curler into a tube 0 of asbestos or the like material. The whole is then put into the electric drier or heater. This heater consists of a tubular receptacle 9' of porcelain or like insulating material within whichis a metal tube it referablg of aluminum, the inner surface 0 which is lined with micaor other insulating material. The heat created by the electric current is transmitted through the asbestos tube to the curl, drying the same.
What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. The herein described device for waving hair, comprising a perforated metal tube constituting a curler, an asbestos tube adapted to fit over the curler with the curl thereon and an .electric drier to be applied over the asbestos tube.
