The embodiment of the invention shown in the drawings is composed of four sections, two ofwhich are of larger size than the others and are arranged at the center of the boat the end sections bein cnou h smaller" than the central sections to fit therein in nested relation. The central sections are siinilar in construction, as are also the corresponding sections on each side thereof, and only one section of each series will be described, it being premised that the boat consists practically of two parts, each of which is the counterpart of the other.

Each end section consists of a sheet or plate which is bent to form a bottom 14 and sides 15, the bottom being substantially flat and the sides curved and arganged with their convex sides outwardly and each side edge is provided with a reinforcing strip or bar 16 riveted thereto, as at'17.
The end section is of greater width at the, end adjacent to the central section, and tapers gradually toward the outer end, and the larger end is closed by an end' plate 18 recessed, as at 22, and riveted to the bottom and sides, as at 19, while the other end is closed by a plate 20 whose upper edge 21 is straight. The end section is also provided with a pair of angle plates 23 similar in construction and arranged in the same manner as the plates 13, and between the ends of the plates adjacent to the larger end a bar 24 provided with a longitudinal series of openings 25 is arranged.
Each section is provided at its corners perforated lug 11 for receiving a with openings 26 which register with the corresponding openings of the adjacent section when the sections are placed together, and bolts 27 are passed through the registering openings for securing the sections together. It will be observed from an inspection of Fig. 5 that the bottoms of the end sections are inclined upwardly toward their outer ends, and that false bottoms 29 which are substantially horizontal are arranged above the said bottoms, and an air chamber 30 is arranged between the true-and the false b0ttomsQ The corners of the end sections are reinforced by angle plates 31, and each section is provided with a slatted removable bottom 32, the bottom 32 resting upon the false bottom in the end-sections.
