in the county of New -Yor and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Adjustingv Devices for Music-Rolls, of which the following is a specification. i

' The present invention relates to adjusting devices for music rolls, in self-playing musical instruments, and has for its object to provide a device which upon the accidental displacement of the music roll to either side of the music tracker, will instantaneously cause the music roll to adjust itself in proper position.

The bar 0 is provided at its ends with cylindrical bores d in which are loosely borne studs d. The forward ends of these studs are rounded off and are adapted to normally project outward of the bar. These studs, of which there are two, are arranged at such points of the'bar, that the side edges of the music roll which is fed past the bar, are in close proximity to said studs.

The valves are secured to plates h which are hinged to the bar a above the studs (1 and are provided with counterwei hts h, tending to return the valves into clised position. The slightest pressure upon the studs d caused by' the displacement of the music roll will cause the opening of the valves h pertive bellows will contract and in well known manner instantaneously return the displaced music roll into the proper position. \Vhat I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is z-- 1. In self-playing musical instruments, the combination with the pneumatic music roll tracker, of a music roll, an adjusting device for the music roll, comprising movable studs in the said tracker at each side of the music roll, bellows operatively (mun-(10d with the music roll, exhaust pipes leading from the bellows, valves on the tracker connected with said pipes and operated by said CHARLES FLETTNER.
