IMPROVEMENT IN BRSE-POWERS.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom 'it vmay concern,.-
Be it known that I, DANIEL WooDBuRY, of Roch- York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Horse-Powers; and I do hereby declare that. the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a plan view of my invention.

The object and nature of my invention will be understood by reference to the drawings and specification, and to enable others to make and use the same, l'will describe its construction and operation.
My invent-ion relates to that class known as mounted horse-powers, and consists, more particularly, inimprovements upon an invention patented by me, April 27, 1869. Y v
I construct the frame of my horse-power substantially in the manner described in my former patent, using vthe, gil-ders A, transverse beam B,`and galiowsframe C, the latter secured to the beam B at the cxtremities c. v

Upon the bridge-trees I box the shaft i, having fitted to it the pinion :aand to which the tumblingv rod o is coupled in the usual manner. These/bridgetrees project somewhat below the pinion andshai't, and thus protects them from injury by 'accidental tip- To the under side of the beam B, I joint the levelling-bar F, the outer end of which is slotted,to admit the tumbling-rod and supporting-box n, fig. 2.
Thejadjusting-segment K connects the frame with the levelling-bar in the usual manner. v When it is desired to remove vthe horse-power by attaching a team directly to it, I use the tongue G, which slides into the socket g, secured to the levelling-bar,
