sidin at Findlay,-in the county of Shelby and tate of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Ironing- Boards, of which the following is a specifi cation. I

My invention relates to improvements in ironing boards, and one object of my invention is the'provision of an ironing board which will combine in a single structure an ironing board, a clothes drier, and a sleeve ironing board, the whole being capable of production at about the cost of the ordi nary ironing board and ossessing merit in point of simplicity and urability.

Another object of my invention is the provision of a combined ironing board, clothes drier, and sleeve board each element of which is capable of performin its functions in the most etlicient manner, w ichwill permit of the parts being brought into instant use, and which when not needed can be folded to occu y a small amount of space and in which eit er the ironing board, the

"sleeve board or the clothes drier may be used as, circumstances require.

To attain the desired objects my invention consists of a combined ironing board, sleeve board,and clothes drier, and in certain novel features of construction and combination of parts substantially as disclosed herein.

Figure 1, represents a perspective View of the complete invention. Fig. 2, represents a perspective view of the under side of the ironing board proper and the sleeve board, the sleeve board being shown in the position assumed when not in use, and Fi 3, represents a sectional detailed view 0 the ironing board proper with the sleeve board shown in elevation and in the position assumed when in use.

In the drawings: The letter A, designates the ironing board proper to one end of which is hinged at B, the clothes drier C, and the board is. su ported by the pairs of hinged legs D and the'hinged brace-bar F, having the abutment G, at its free lower end enga ing the crotch of the connecting bars H, o the legs'E.

From this construction it will be observed that I rovide an ironing board proper and a clotl ies drier which can be instantl brought into position for use, and whic can be collapsed or't'olded and stored in a small space when not required, and upon the under face of the ironing board proper is secured a pair of transverse strips J and K, a keeper L, being secured to the strip K, and a block h'hbeing connected and titted by shouldered portion N, to the strip J. To the block M, by means of the bolt 0, is secured the inner section I, to which is hinged the section Q, and to which section Q, is also hinged the transverse sleeve board It.

From this construction it will be observed that the sleeve board is composed of three hinged sections I, Q, and R, and that these sections when the board is not in use lie in a horizontal plane and are secured under the board by the keeper L, and when desired to use the sleeve board it is simply necessary to swing the board to'the transverse position shown in Fig. 3, and to support the sleeve board in the proper horizontal position I use the hinged block S.

It is evident from the foregoing description, taken in connection with the drawings, that I provide an ironing board which provides in a single structure, an ironing board proper, a clothes drier, and a sleeve board and that each is thoroughly eflicient and practical.

I claim:

1. In combination with an ironing board, a sleeve board comprising three hinged sections ivotally secured to the underside thereor, and additional means secured to one of the sections for holding the board in position for use.

2. In combination with an ironing board, a block secured to the under side thereof, a bolt passed vertically through said block, a sleeve board comprising three hinged sections havin one of the end sections engaged by said b0 t, and means on the other end section for holding the same in-position for use.

3. In combination with an ironing board, a bolt projectin vertically from the under side thereof, a s eeve board havingone end enga ed by said bolt and pivotally held there y, said board being formed in three sections hingedly secured together, the ivotcd section serving as a base when the evice is in use, the intermediate section extending upward at substantially right angles thereto and su porting one end of the ironing section, an means secured to the under side of the ironing section for holding the same in position for use.

4:. In combination'with an ironing board,

a downwardly projecting bolt secured on-the under side of the middle portion thereof, a board engaged by said bolt and extending longitudinally along the under side of the ironing board, an angular iron secured on the under side of the ironing board and serving as a rest from the free end of said second board, said board being formed of three hinged sections and adapted for use as a sleeve board, the board being capable of swinging on the boltas a pivot outward at right angles to the ironing board, the pivoted section remaining in a horizontal position and serving as a base portion, the intermediate section being capable of swinging upward at right angles thereto and supporting one end of the ironing section, and means suitably secured to the ironing section and bearing against the ironing board for the lroning board to the ti e.

5. The combination of an ironing board proper, a sleeve board pivoted midlength under side thereof,

said board being composed of a series of hinged sections adapted to form asupport and an ironing portion,a brace hinged tothe underside of the ironing portion, and

means for holding the said sections 1n a straight line on the under side of the board when not in use, thus reventing the same from interfering with the user of the board and allowing the board to be folded up in compact form.
