The brace members 12 and 13 are each provided, at each end, iwith an le ends 1t, which overhang the upper an lower portions 4 and 5 of the end portion and prevent any longitudinal movement of the same.
The lower brace portion 18 is provided, near each end, .with a pairof apertures 15, which apertures'are provided,v at theirends, with dependin angle-integral extesions 16. The upper race member' 12 is provided directly above the apertures 15 with aper tures 17, and bolts 18 are ada tedf'to pass through Said apertures 15 and 1 and firmly secure the rail chair upon the top of the tie as hereinafter described.
Positioned intermediate the top of the brace member 12 and the lower brace member 13 is a sleeve portion 19 und the bolts 18 are adapted to pass through said sleeve portion, which sleeve portion acts as a uide for the boltsl 18.. The lower head 20 o the bolt 18, when` positioned in the sleeve portion 19, is adapted to be engaged bythe-an le extensions 16 u on the lower brace memy r 13 und hold sui bolt against rotation, when the nut 2l, is threaded upon theupper end of said bolt 18. Truss members 22 also form a portion of th frame and have their ends 23 attached to e lower portion 5 of the end frame. The trti members 22 are provided, near each end, with upwardly-bent portions 24, which are adapted to come up to the level with the upper longitudinally -extendng rods' 9. The truss members 22 comprise lower benin ends 23, bent at right angles thereto, and said truss members comprise an upwardly-extending angle portion 25 which again is bent, so os to be in the same longitudinal plane with thc body portion of the '1 truss member, und again is bent downwardl forming nn angle portion 24, which terminotes into the body p ortion of the truss member. By having the longitudinally-- extendin slots formed in the chair and the late 32, it will be obvious that the chair can )e adjusted, so as to allow the rails to be more easily positioned upon the chair and cured thereto. A central brace member 34 is positioned between the end fra-mes and the brace members tt, extending through the corners of the sume, as in the end frame and the upper and lower brace members 12 and 13 are securely held to the intermediate brace member 34, as shown in Fig. 4, by means of angle extensions 1l, similar' to those formed upon the end brace members.
From the foregoing description, it will he obvious that I have produced a plastic tie, which is simple in construction and consists of a com aratively small number of parts, and whic is durable and thoroughly braced throughout its entire length; Further it will be obvious that the longitudinnily-rxtending members will be greatly reinforced,

That I claim is:

A railroad tie, of 4the class described comprising a plastic body having a frame embedded therein, said i'ranle comprising end frames, longitudinally-extending rods Secured to the corners of said end trames, provided with ears formed thereon upon the upper and lower sides thereof, longitudinallly-extending upper and lower central brace members having` their ends secured between said curs, means formed upon the end of said upper and lower members and adapted to overhanglr the end frame and prevent thiI longitudinalalisplacement ot' sind upper and lower members,
displacement of said upper and lower members therefrom.
2. A railroad tie of the class described comprising a plastic body, a frame embedtherein .said frame com rising end trames nrovided with upper an lower sides and en sides, said upper and lower sides provided upon their inner faces with integrulangle ears formed thereon, longitudinally-extending central members secured between said ears, said central members compris-in flanged ends ada ted to overhan the si es of the upper an `lower sides, and lonoitudnally extending braces .secured to said5 end frames for securing the same togather.
3. A railroad tie of the class described comprising square end frames, longitudinallyfextending rods Secured at their ends to the corners of said frames, truss members secured to said end frames and provided, near each end, with u wardlybent portions, and centrali f located Jbracing means secured to said end rames.
4. A, railroad tie of the class described comprising a plastic body, a metallic fraaie embedded therein and comprising end frames, longitudinally-extending rods secured to the corners of said end frames, centrally located longitudinally-extendin brace members scoured to the top and ottoni of said end frames, said bottom of the lon 'tudinallyextending brin-e meinberprovide near each end with a piurality of apertures having inlegi-al angle de ending portions formed upon the ends tlereof, means adapted to pass -through said aperture for engaging a chair adapted to be carried by the top of said tie for securing the same thereto, and said depending portions adapted to hold said means against, rotation.
