relaxation APPARATUS.
Specification of Letters Patent.
-Patented Apr. 5, 1910.
Application filed December 1?, 1907. Serial No. 406,873.
To'o'll whom it may concern: I 7 Be it known that-I, ERNsT EISEMANN, a citizen of-the GermanEmpire, res ding at- Stuttgart, in the Kingdom of Viirtemberg,
Empireof'Germany, have invented certain '-new and useful Improvements in Ignition Apparatus;.and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear and exact descri'ption of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art. to "which t appertains to make and use the same.
This invention has for itsobject to provide a magneto ignitiona'pparatus in which the distributing disk is arranged'for conyenientadjustmentto produce. advanced or retarded ignition and is provided with, an improved "arrangement of high and low tension contacts. I y
In. the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 is a front view, partly broken away; Fig. 2 a view partly in side elevation and'partly insection; and, Figs. 3, 4 and 5 are front, top and rear views of the'distributmgdlsk.
The ignition apparatus is of well known type 0 being the armature shaft and e therotating spindle. On the shaft- 0 is fulcru-medja lever 7 whose' extremities have the holes 7? whereby to connect said lever to the 0 'denotes high-tension contacts on the trontfof the distributing disk, the same being connected by suitable wiring (not shown) with the binding iosts c For thesecondarv wiresleading to the spark plugs in the cylinders of the engine. 0- denotes similar lowtension contacts'on the back of the distributing disk adapted to be connected by suitable wiring (not shown) with a plate a binding post 0*.
In the operation the primary or low tension circuit is made and-broken intermit- 0 having tently the impulses thus effected are switched in rotation to the several spark plugs. In order to retard or advance the lgnition, the lever 7 is turned in the p'roper direction,
4 thereby turnin the distributing disk corre- -spondingly." By this arrangement I acco'nv plish the asembliu'gin a unitary part of both the big and ion tension contacts and at the same time providwa simplc and compact mechanism whereby to adjust the timing of the ignition. I
-Having' thus fully described my invention what I claini is:
In an ignition apparatus, the combination of a distributing disk, a part forming-a supportfor said disk, a toothed ring'carried by said disk, a toothed member meshing with said ring, another ,1 t tormmg a support.
for said member, an high-tension and lowtension contacts arranged on the opposite faces of 'said disk, substantially as described.
in presenceof two witnesses.
