To all whom it may concern.'
Be it known that l, donn l-lncnr, a citizen of the United States, and a resident ot Silverton, in the county of San J uan and State of Colorado, have made certain new and useful improvements in Neck-Yokes, ot which the following is a specilication.
This invention is an improvement in neck yokes, and particularly in centers and has ior an object to provide a novel construction of neck yoke center which will possess the maximum strength as weil as be flexible in all directions; and the invention consists in certain novel constructions and combinations ot parts as will be hereinafter described and claimed.
In the drawing Figure l is a per pective view ol the invention as in use. F ig. 2 is a detail perspective view showing the iiaps turned back and the central layer with the reinforcing cable in place. The neck yoke center is intended for use in the ordinary way as illustrated in Fig. l, and to this end l provide the center A with an opening A to receive the pole, and with a shank-like portion A2 to which is held the terrule B, bolts C C and C being provided for such purpose, and the bolts C extending preferably through ierrules or eyelets C10, which are held in the ends of the reinforcing cable D in the use of the invention.
As shown, the neck yoke center is made of harness and sole leather and has an intermediate layer E of sole leather, and layersF and G on opposite sides of the layer E, and stitched thereto to incase the layer E and to retain in connection therewith the reinforcing cable as will be understood trom the drawing.
As shown, the layers are held together by three rows of stitches, two rows near the central opening A and a row near the outer edge of the center as shown.
The intermediate layer E is slotted at l5 along the sides and bottom of the opening A and up along the shank portion A2 to the line of the 'terrules or eyelets C10 and sur- Specification et' Letters Eatent.

ln addition to the advantages resulting from the provision o' awirc cable reinforce, l provide for securing the saine in a simple novel manner by slotting the intermediate layer E as shown and before described, and securing the ends of the cable by devices which cooperate in securing the layers of the center together, the whole being effected without making any change in the appearance of the neck yoke center, the latter remaining in appearance the same as usual, as when the reinforcing strand is in place it is covered and retained by the overlying layers F and G, or l? or G, as the number may be varied without departing trom the principles of my invention.
