My invention has relation to certain improvenients in types of dating stamps-,patented to nie November 3d, 1908, No. 902,582, f and lDecember 7th, 1909 No. 942,827, in l which in the present instance, the improv'e1 ments reside in constructive arrangements of a spool and a barbed Ispindle for receivl ing4 and winding thereon an ink ribbonfor inking thetype of such Aa' stamp, among others, and to provide for the ready application to or from the stamp of the ink ribbon spool from which it is unwound onto the barbed spindleof the stamp.

In a stamp of the cha 'acter described, a spring,- positioned spindle mounted in the stamp. casing having, a square portion with a notch, means to locking'ly engage .said notch to said casing, an inliingribbon spool mounted on said spindle within said casino and means adapted to be connected to and disconnected from one end of said spindle :to revolve said spool, by 4actions of the f stamp-head of said stamp, substantially as and for the purposes described.

3. In a stamp ofthe character described, a spring positioned spindle mounted in the stamp casing having a square portion with a notch, inca-ns to lockingly engage said note-ih to said casing, an inking-ribbon spool mounted on said spindle within said casing,y
