BRAKE, of Rockford, in the county o f Winnebago, and State of Illinois,` have` invented a new; and useful Improvement in Harnes- Fasteners; and. This invention relates to haines-fasteners, and consists mainly in the employment. of-a lever-hook of peculiar construction in connection with two metallic catch-bars, asv will be fully described hereinafter.

In this position the two parts are From the peculiar construction `of the hook, it will be observed Athat the strain is borne equally by the twoparts, c2 c, of the hook, and that the fastening is thus rendered doubly secure.

, The button a? is cut awa only on one side, by which construction the possibility of the release of the lever by accident is made much less.

Whenit is desired to unfasten the haines, thebutv lton is turned and the lever released.

By the construction,V herein described, a simple and" e'ective device-is produced. It can be cheaply con"-V structed, and has `no detached parts to be .lostnor can itbe easily got out of order.

What I claim as new, anddesire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
