The prcflent invention relatos to head resta for chaire auch as used by barbera and denlista, and it has for an object to provide n' colmtruction which may be thrown to the rear of z chair back so that it will not be neccessary to remove it when it is not desired to employ the same.

To these and other ends the invention consists in certain improvements and combinations of parts all. as will be hereinafter more fully described, the novel features being pointed out in the claims at the endA of thc speeilication.

In moving the head rest to o rative position it is swung upwardly so t tat the roller engages the beve ed portion 13, tlc-presses the latch to its lowerluost position, and then cautiony the shitting of the {ulcruni of the head rest so that said roller, after the latch has been iasscd, will drop into the seat 6.

A heat rest constructed iu accordance with this invention is not'rcmovcd from the chair, thus savia the time that is consumed in searching for it. after it has'bcen removed. The devices for shifting the head rest are simple in o ation, inexpensiveto manufacture, an so constructed that they are not in the wsv. Y

What we claim is: 1.
