Various other modifications and changes in the design and construction of iny iniproved tie-plate inay be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention or sacrificing any of its advantages.
lt will be obvious that my improved tieplate can be formed hy straight rolling into lengths for the proper shape easily and quickly,y but such plate can also be fornicd by other inethods or processes and from various materials7 if desired. rlhe forni of the lplate will overcome the serious objections to the present inethod of fastening rails to the ties through this el s of plates. and the structure of the sante will serve its full purpose and be of such a forni that the cost of manufacttiring will he fully consistent with its installation upon any railroad.
