. printing envelops, the same being of the tively simple and inexpensive parts to prove l rotary type and having novel means for coni trolling the inking mechanism and the feeding mechanism upon failure of the said feeding mechanism to properly operate.
An object of this invention is to provide novel means for actuating a controller for the inking mechanism and simultaneously therewith for operating guards which limit the movement of certain parts which, owing to said limitation, causes the mechanism and particularly the feeding mechanism to move in order to guard against the operation of the printing mechanism if the feeding action is not normal.
To the end stated, I provide a series of links and 'levers and two guards or shutters, one of which operates in conjunction with the envelop/carrier and the other of which i operates inconjunction with means for con .j trolling the inking mechanism whereby the objects indicated are attained by comparastrong and durable well as efficient and' satisfactory. in use.-
With the foregoing and .other objects in 1 view, the invention consists in the details of construction and inthe arrangement and,` combinationgof parts .to be hereinafter more l fuliy set forth and claimed.
in describing the invention in detail,-ref erence` will be had to the accompanying drawings forming part of this specification wherein like characters denote correspondl ing parts in theseveral views, in which- Figure 1, illustrates a fragment of a frame i of a printing press with parts of the operating mechanism in elevation and other parts i shown in dotted lines back of the frame; Fig. 2, illustrates a' fragment of a printing ,l frame taken from the side opposite to that l shown in Fig. 1', Aparts of the mechanism i being shown in elevation and other parts in l dotted lines; Fig. 3, illustrates an end view/ififrom alinement with the aperture 1l, in the of a feed roll withy nide rolls in assembled relation therewith; *ign 4, illustrates a view l Specification of Lettersatent.
