GEORGE A. TRUE, OF DETROIT, MICHIGAN, ASSIG-NOR 0F ONE-HALF T0 NORTHERN ENGINEERING WORKS, OF DETROIT, IVIICHIGAN, A CORPORATION OF MICHIGAN.
'TURN-TABLE.
To att whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE A, TRUE, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Detroit, in the county of IVayne and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Turn- Tables, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.
The invention relates to turntables more particularly designed for use in garages, warehouses, manufacturing establishments, etc., and it is the object of the invention to reduce the cost of construction and facilitate installation.
In many places, and particularly in garages, the turntables required are of large diameter, and where the platform or table proper is formed of metal it can only be shipped in sections. These sections are large and of considerable weight, and, where shipped to a distant point, greatly increase the cost of construction. To overcome this difficulty, I have devised a construction in which the metallic platform or table is dispensed with and a reinforced concrete construction is substituted therefor. Thus, it is only necessary for the manufacturer to construct and ship the necessary metallic parts-such as the track, rollers, etc., while the platform may be constructed at the point of installation.
In the drawings-Figure l is a perspective view; and Eig. 2 is a section thereof.
As shown, A is a center pin, B a spider'- frame journaled thereon; C, conical rolls on the arms of the spider, and D D annular tracks or ways upon which the rolls travel.
E is an annular metallic rim for protecting the peripheral edge of the platform, and F is a similar rim for protecting the edge of the pit in which the turntable is placed.
The parts thus far described, together with such auxiliaries as the metallic ring G Specification of Letters Patent.

surrounding the center pin, the perforated cap H, and the thimbles I for engaging the turning bar or lever, constitute all of the elements necessarily furnished by the manufacturer. The remainder of the structure is formed at the point of installation, and may be included in the general contract for the concrete work in the construction of the building.
Any suitable method of reinforcing the concrete may be employed in the construction of the platform, but, as shown, a series of radially-extending tension bars J are embedded in the concrete near the upper surface of the platform. These, in connection with the concrete body, form trusses which carry the stresses from all parts of the platform into the ring I) through the rolls C to the track I) in the base.
That I claim as my invention is:
l. A turntable, comprising a supporting bearing, and a platform of reinforced concrete construction thereupon.
2. A turntable, comprising a supporting bearing and a platform of larger diameter formed of concrete reinforced to form trusses for carrying the stresses into the supporting bearing.
8. A turntable, comprising an annular track, a roller bearing thereon, a platform consisting of an annular metallic member supported on said roller bearing, and a reinforced concrete construction extending outward beyond said annular member.
4. A turntable, comprising a concrete base and platform, and a roller bearing having annular track members embedded respectively in said base and platform.
In testimony whereof I afx my signature in presence of two witnesses.
GEORGE A. TRUE.
