Be it known that I, GEORGE W. FRANZ- vHEIM, a citizen of the United States of America, .and resident of'Wheeling, county of Ohio, and State of West Virginia, havel invented certain ynew and useful Improvements 1n Leg-Fastenmgs, of which the following- 1s afspecification.

The tongue may be perfectly plain, as shown in Fig. 7, or it may have an upright lug, ior angular terminal 8, as shown in Figs. l, 3 and 5, or it may have adownturned lug or terminal 8a', as shown in Fig. '-l. In any case, however, a set-screw9 1s rprojected through a threaded hole .in the end or terminal of the tongue and hasits end of the lug carried by the tub, said'screw being directed diagonally against the base portion 10 of the, lug in the constructions illustrated in Figs. l, 3, 'and 7, and downwardly inclined against the edge of the loop-like lug 5" in the construction shown in Fig. l. Said set-screw is preferably provided with a slightly tapered point, as shown. As is apparent, when any of the lconstructions illustrated herein is employed, the set-screw is directed through the threaded hole in the terminal end of the tongue with its point impinging against the lug. As said screw' is tightened the leg isdrawn up to position against the tub; and when said leg is properly seated, the set-screw exerts such a force against said lugthat said leg is 'rigidly held in position, effectually preventing retraction of the tongue.
