I FRUIT-DRIER.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all wl om'it may concern: I
Be it known that I, ISRAEL HOGELAND, of Indianapolis, in the county of Marion, and State of Indiana, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Fruit-Briers; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference. being bad to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figures oi'refere-nee marked the1e n1.
Figure 1, of the drawings, is a plan view of the se ries of driers, my invention.
Figure 2 is a top plan view of one of the series of driers.
My invention relates to means for drying. fruit and It consists mainly in the combination and arrangement, in a novel and eflicient manner, of derices by which a cheap and useful drying-a1.)paratus is provided for family-use.
The letter A, of the drawings, represents a ring of metal, intended to 'be set upon a stove, over a lamp, or other proper heating-defice.
' 'lhe letters B are a series of rings, formed of thin boards or hands, in the interior of which I arrange the devices next mentioned.
The letters 0 represent a series of arms, arranged in the inside of rings B, in the manner shown, the outer ends thereof respectively ailixed to the inner sides of the rings B, and their inner ends uniting in the centres of said rings.
The letter h represents a button, placed upon the inner ends of arms c, as shown. I place another button, of the same form, underneath said arms, at the point immediately opposite button 7:, and unite the two together, by a bolt or pin, 8, that passes through After cutting the slots in arms 0, at such distances I from each other as I desire the cane strips to be placed, I commence. at or near the centre of the'ring, and make the end of such strips fast in a slot, and then wind it around and around as I recede from the centre, until I reach the periphery of the ring, or rather v I the outerends of the arms 0, the cane beingarra-nged in the slots of the arms throughout its entire circuit.
The letters 11 are ears or guides,-aiiixed to the inner sidesof the rings B, to provide means for fastening one ring upon another.
The lower ring B of my series rests upon a suitable fianch upon the top of metallic ring A. This arrangement of devices forms a neat, efficient, and economical utensil for family-use.
\Vhat I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination and arrangement of the rings A and B, arms 0, buttons 71, cane strips '0, and ears 1 constructed to operate substantially as and for the purposes specified.
