To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, MATTHEW STEEL, Jr., a subject of the King olil Greet Britain and Ireland, residing at Gosorth, in the county' of Northumberland; England, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Carbureters; and I do heieby declare the following to he e full, clear, and exact description of the invention, suoli es will enable others skilled in the ert to which it appertains to make and use the seme.
My invention relates to ineens for sup plying air to carbureters, and the object of my invention is to supply oir in zisfinely divided condition for cerbureters intended for general use, such as for lighting, heating and power purposes, and for shops, :motor cars, etc.
With this object in-vview, my invention consists in the construction and combinetions of parts as hereinafter described end claimed.

The porous pads e4 'are immersed, or pertially immersed in the oil which comes in through the feed regulating pipe b. The pressure on the pads e? 1s regulated, by screwing the cylinder e2 up or down.
The air under'pressure passes out through the pertorations in the side of the pipe e3 into the cylinder e2 and thenl passes through the porous pads, which are saturated with oil. As both the oil and air are in e tlnely divided state as the latter is driven through the pads, the result is that the evolved mixture is more equable in quality, volatility and density, while the small quantity of oil inthe carbureter at one time renders accidents less probable and less dengerous, if they should occur.
