The normal position of the bar when all of the doors are closed, is such that: the pins of the bell cranks will be at the upper ends of the slots.

'lhe bell cranks may be pivoted at any suitable points,v but it is preferable to so position them that the ends thereot` which coperate with the doors will be directly opposite the door latches t8, whereby operation of the door to I 'eset a bell crank against the tension ot its spring 24 will not strain the door hinges. Ilurthermore, this arrangement also hasthc effect that the bell crank through its spring will cause the prompt opening of the door upon the unlatching thereof. lty will now be Seen that upon the unlatching of any door of the cupboard, irrespective ot' the position or velevation of the cupboard7 the locking mechanism will prom]' tly cooperate with the guiding devices to prevent movement ot' the cupboard until the door is again closed.

The details of construction may be varied to a considerable extent and' it is not my de- Lsire to be limited to the precise construction shown, except as may be necessitated by the .state ot' th al't.

l, claim:

1. ln a dumb-waiter, the combination ot' a cupboard having an outwardly swinging' door thereon and a' downwardly extending trame, stationary guiding means copel'ating with said frame. and locking means cooperatiim with the `inner face of said door and with said guidin means whereby when the door is open the ocking means will engage the guiding' means to prevent movement oi the clipboard.

2. ln a dumb-waiter, the combination ot a cupboardhaving a plurality of doors, guidin g means for the cupboard, and locking;r means coperatin(r with the cu board and guiding means whereby upon tie opening in'nncdiately of any one cupboard door the guiding means will be engaged to lock the cupboard from Y, movement.

In a dun'ib-waiter, the combination ot' a l cupboard lia-ving a door and a downwardly l proj ecting frame, a series ot' stationary guide rods cooperatingl with the trame, and locking' mechanism comprising' a yoke movable with the cupboard and ,embracing one of said rods. a, device engagcable by the door, fand connections between said device and said yoke. whereby when the door is open the yoke 'will interlock with the embraced rod.

4. In a d umh-waiter. the combination of a cupboard having' a door and a downwardly project ing traine, a series of stationary guide rods cooperating with the frame, one of said rods beine` notched, a yoke carried by the trame and cooperating with the notched rod. a device carried by the cupboard and engageable by the door. and connections be-` tween the said device and yoke whereby when the door is open the yoke will engage ithe notched rod to prevent movement of the clipboard. L 5. In a dumb-waiter, the combination o t' a cupboard having doors7 stationary guiding l means t'or the cupboard, a series ot' bell t cranks carried by the cupboard and coperatingr with the respective. doors. a locking member coperatiiig with the xguidingV means` and connections between the bell cranks and locking" member hereby upon opening any cupboard door the said member will lock the cupboard trom movement.
