To all whom 'it may concern: l
Be it known that I, nigitnnli. SWAHN, a subject of the King of Sweden, residing at Brooklyn, in the county ofKings and State of New York, have invented certain new `imifterlfnlly described and claimed, and
illustrated in the .aco inpanying drawings, in which-.-- l

Throughout the `following detail description and on the several' figures of the drawings similar parts are referred to by like rete-rence characters.
Referring to the drawings by reference (-.liaractei's the invention is shown as applied to a truck or carriage l0 of any suitable construction adapting it for convenient transportation and manipulation. The frame 1l is shown as being supported upon front wheels 1Q and a. pair of rear Wheels i3, the intermediate portion of the frame being dropped'to form a platform le upon which ainoperator stands during firing operation. ',l`he. .dev iceinay be ldrawn' by hand or by horses.I and' is provided preferably with a seal. 15. fl'he front'portion of the frame and front, axle areso related that the front'. wheels may turn fully around undery the traine `for ease ot' turning and guiding.
The gun casing 1G is supported upon a horizontal axis l? above the rear axle 18 of the carriage, and is adjustable with respect to saidaxis by means of a rod 20 pivotally connectedto the casing 16 atv 2l and having threaded engagement witha nutl 22 i to which is connected an operating hand wheel 23, the said nut 22 being pivoted atvQd in the. frame 25, whereby the rod 2O may oscillate to accommodate the pivotal move-- ments of the casing on the axis 17. i By the means just .described the gun easingv may be adjusted so as to train 'the guns in the manner described. The casing may be constructed of any suitable size, form, or maf terials.v i v lWitliiii the casing 1G and extending through'the saine from frontto rear are a series ot gun barrels 26. is shown said casing is segmental in planl view and the gun barrels contained therein arc ariangedin the form ot a t'an or radiating in a flaring shapev in order that the scope ot' the gun may be very broad. As indicated in Figs. 2 and 4 the gun barrels are arranged in a plurality of rows or seriesr` the breech or rear ends of the same are. comparatively close together and it is my intention to employ-in Connection with the Vgun a peculiar arrangement ot' ammunition. llach gun barrel 26 is secured in any suitable manner as by screw threads into the breech 27 and its niuzzle.
projects through the easing member'QS and isproteeted on the outside ot'the saine by means ot afivasher 29 having a countersunk hole 25)', the extreme end 26 boing upset into said countcrsink. As indicated in Fig. 4 the breech openings are arranged in rows or groups of tour each, cach group being slightly inclined from the vertical. ln each ot' thcsc groups itv is intended to insert a series of cartridges carried by ay single clip indicated at 30. yit each end oi the 'face of the breech there may be left one or more single openings which may be filled by the use ot a clip 3i bearing a single cartridge.
lt is the intention that the ammunition will be carried in cases from which the operator or operators may remove the same with rapidity and slip them into the gun. -For thel purpose oir/extracting the empty shells Sti down the Lnine the eiips 30 with the Sheilal therein will be quickly extracted from the gun. floiih rods engage the clips 3() while i onl \v one oi them wlli engage the ehps 31.
