To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DAVID A. MURDooH,
' citizen of the United States, residing at Youngstown,'county of Mahoning, anclState of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Buildin -Scaffolds, of which the following is a speci cation, reference beinghad therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to abuilding scaffold,
-- and particularly to a scaffold and'braces scaffold.

Referring to the drawing, the numeral 1 designates a U-sha ed channel iron comprising the horizonta member of "the scaffold within which the diagonally disposed U- shaped channel iron 2 is pivotally connected at 3, the other end of this latter iron being connected to iron 1 by toggle links 4 and 5- pivoted together at 6 to fold and permit the nesting of the channel levers within each other, as shown in Fig. 3, thus permitting the convenient acking and transportation of the he channel iron 1 is rovided with the'attaching plate 7 secure thereto and having the angularly disposed flange '8 adapted to embrace an attaching device secured to the building structure, for instance as shown in Figs. 5 to 8., In the former figure the device comprises the V-shaped block 9 fixed part by any desired means. In Figs. 6 and 7 a similar block 11 is adapted to be clamped to a beam 12 or other fixed part by means of the hooked bolt 13 threaded at 14 to receive the block 11 and secure it in position. Fig. 8 shows means for applying these blocks to a corner stud or beam 23 by means of the bolt 24 having one block threaded thereon and an eye 25 at the opposite end. ture 15 in the channel plate 2, while it is also .held against vertical movement by means of the jack brace 16 provided at one end with the T-bar 17 connected to,the brace 16 by the V-sha(ped brace 18 secured to these parts and exten apertured end 19 which may be fastened to 'a foot board or other device secured u on the roof. The opposite end of this jack race is provided with a lplate 20 having a slotted end 21 to embrace t e pins '22 uponrthe bar 1 of the bracket and ho d it against any vertical or lateral movement. a

In the application of the invention it will be seen that the bracket is readily applied to the attaching'devices secured to the build: ing structure and can .be used for any building operation, while it is effectually held in position by means of the jack brace which owing to its contact with the foot board upon the roof prevents either vertical or lateral movement thereof, and these jack braces may be used successively upon the roof as found necessary or desirable in the roofing secured to plate 10 which is attached to a ed beyond the T-bar to provide an operation so that the scaffold structure is adapted for all parts of the building 0 eration either for the side walls or roof -an can be compactly foldedfor trans ortation or storage when not in use. Havlng described my invention and set forth its merits, what 1 claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:-
.1. A scaffold bracket comprising a horizontal member, a diagonally disposed member pivoted thereto, a toggle joint connecting these members, an attaching plate upon the inner end of the horizontal member provided with an angular engaging flange thereon, and an attaching member secured to a fixed part %nd having a head to cooperate with said an e.
2. A scafioldbracket having a horizontal member provided at its inner end with a wall attaching device and at its outer end with a headed pro'e'ction upon its upper face, and a roof brace aving at one enda laterally extending bar and at its opposite end a device to embrace said rojection beneath its head.
3. A scaffold racket having a horizontal member provided at its inner end with a wall attaching device and at its outer end with a headed projection upon its upper face, and a roof brace provided at one end with a lateral head and securing means extending therefrom'at each end and at its opposite end with a slotted plate to embrace said rojection.
4. Ina building scafiold, a jadli brace c01nprising a T-shapedstructure having a securing brace extended from the longitudinal bar to and beyond the horizontal bar thereof, and a Wall bracket connected to the free end of the longitudinal bar. 5. In a building scafiold, a jack brace comprising a T-shaped structure having a brace extendedfrom the longitudinal bar to and beyond the horizontal bar thereof, a connecting plate carried by the free end of the longitudinal bar thereof, and a'wall bracket having means engaged by said plate.
