SPRING-BUTTON FOR GLOVES, ARTICLES OF CLOTHING, SHGES, AND THE LIKE.
To all 'whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HANS EBERHARDT, resident of l Flensburgerstrasse, Berlin, Germany, manufacturer, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Spring-Buttons for Gloves, Articles of Clothing, Shoes, and the Lilie.
My invention consists in manufacturing spring-buttons Which are made undetachable by a lateral pull, no matter on which side, by a peculiar simple arrangement. In consequence of this new feature the button can be used also for such objects in Vwhich a great lateral pull takes place, for instance shoes and boots. rI`he applicability of the button is, in consequence of the present ar rangement, considerably enlarged.
The neuT feature consists in giving to one part of the button, which per se is already known, With its border' a point of support on the border of the other part in any pulling direction. The lateral pull exerted on the button finds therefore in the first place on this point of support a resistance and from this the pulling force is transmitted under a very acute angle to the juncture properly speaking of the button. In consequence of the transmission of force under an acute angle the said juncture is influenced by the pull only in a very small degree. Moreover With a lateral pull one part of the button must, as is Well known, be turned out of the other. By the arrangement of a supporting point on the border of one of the parts of the button it is made impossible, by the lengtln ening of the radius from the supporting point of the resilient or rigid part of the button toward the friction-surface of the latter', for the arts to become separated.

The most simple form is a projecting border on the upper or lower part of the button or a recess in the buttoneplate, so that the plate 0f the other part can be inserted into the same. Having now described my invention what I claim is:
l. In spring buttons, the combination of a cro'en part,` a female part, both of `which are provided '-.fith flanges, and means on the flange of one part for supporting the border of the flange of the other part, as and for the purpose specified.
2. In spring buttons, the combination of a crown part, a female part, both of 'which are provided 'with iianges and the fiange on one part being provided 'with a recess for supporting the border of the flange of the other part.
