CRANE WITH REVOLVING .TIB SLUING A COMPLETE CIRCLE.
To all whom it may concern.'
Be it known that we, ALFRED BODE, a subject of the German Emperor, and resident of Benrath, near Dusseldorf, in the Province of the Rhine, German Empire, and RICHARD BsiNG, a subject of the German Emperor, and resident of No. 6 Brgin. Smidt strasse, Bremerhaven, German Empire, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cranes with Revolving Jib Sluing a Complete Circle, of which the following is an exact specification.
@ur invention relates to so called towercranes or cranes of the h animer-type usually employed at shipbuilding or general harbor work and consisting of an upright structure, which carries a horizontal jib extending in. two directions, one side of the `iib supporting the crab-runway, the other, the balance weight..
According to the invention and in addition to the heavier crab running inside the jib-. structure there will be another crab for.
lighter loads traveling the whole length of both jibs. The structure of the crab extends to one side over' the runway and far enough for the hook to pass the vertical cen-` This allows of:

This is extremely important for shipbuilding' work and unloading in general if the liib is situated between masts.` which make sluing difficult or even impos sible. The majority of such loads are not heavy and they may easily be brought to the other side without necessitating sluing ofthe crane, while heavy loads which must be lifted by the large crab and which would neeessitate sluiiig are. certainly in the minority;

the jib f1.1 (Fig. 3) it will be possible to extend the crab runway over both jibs a and al.
The fixed extension d shown in Fig. 2 can be replaced by a revolving jib g or the likeA also traveling over both sides of the tower crane.
I'Iaving thus fully described the nature of our invention, what we desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is:
1. A tower crane with all-i'ound sluing iib characterized by a lai'ge crab (o) and a smaller crab (c) for lighter loads, the latter fitted with a jibextending over the struetures a and c1 arid traveling on top of them in such a manner as to allow of transporting loads from one side of the crane to the other without necessitating revolving of the tower crane.
2. A tower crane having a revolving jib extending to both sides of the tower and provided with a pair of crab-runways; one of said runways extending solely to one side of the tower and the other runway extending to both sides of the tower.
3. A tower crane having a revolving jib extending to both sides of the tower and provided with a pairof crab-runways; one of said runways being located within the jib and the other runway being located on the top of the jib and extending to both sides of the tower.
4. A tower crane having a revolving jib extending to both sides ofthe tower, a main crab adapted to travel on the part of the jib to one side of the tower, and an auxiliary crab adapted to travel on the parts of the jib to both sides of the tower.
5. A tower crane having a revolving jib extending to both sides of the tower, a niain crab adapted to travel on the part of the jib to one side of the tower, and an auxiliary crab adapted to travel on the parts of the jib to both sides of the tower 3 said last named crab having a jib extending laterally beyond said first-named jib.
6. A tower crane having a revolving jib j ib of the extending to both sides ofthe tower, a main I seldorf, Germany this seventeenth clay of crab adapted to travel on the part oi the jib J anuary, 1907. to one side of the tower, and an auxiliary ALFRED BODE.
crab adapted to travel on the arts of the jib A 5 to both sides of the tower; sid last-named l RCHARD BUSING f crab having a revoluble jib extending laterallyvbeyond said first-named jib.
The foregoing specification signed at Dus- In presence oi' two witnesses- M. ENGELS, ALFRED POHLMEYER.
