To all whom 'it may cof/wem.:
Be it known that we, CLARENCE L. Tar- Lon and EDGAR E. Biiosins, of Alliance, in the county of Stark and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful lmprovements in Ladle or Double-Trolley Electric Cranes; and we do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
Our invention relates to an improvement in ladle or double trolley electric cranes, and more particularly to an improvement on that type of ladle cranes in which the main trolley is supported upon split or divided n main girders with the hoisting chains passing downwardly between the two sections of such split or divided main girders. Hei-etofore in the construction of this type of ladle ,crane the main trolley has been provided with'equalizing trucks for distributing the weight ofy the main trolley and load carried thereby equably on the four sections of the Such equalizing trucks have added to the cost and weight of the main trolley and the object of our invention is to dispense with equalizing trucks and thereby simplify and eheapen the construction of thisjtype of crane.
With these objects in view our invention consists in the features of construction and combinations of parts hereinafter described and pointed out in the claims.

The main girder sections 1, 2, are
eachl` provided with the usual flanges 4 and with the track-rails 5, 5, upon which are supported the double-flanged wheels 6, 7, mounted in the frame of the main trolley. Inside of the main girders are located the auxiliary girders S, 8, which are provided with rails 9, 9, for the support of the auxiliary trolley 10. The auxiliary girders are connected with the inner sections ofthe main girders by horizontal lacing bars 1l, l2 to insure the requisite lateral stiffness and rigidity to the auxiliary girders and the inner sections of the main girders. The hoisting drums 13, 14n, of the main trolley are located at its opposite sides and are arranged parallel to the giiders with the main hoisting ropes 15, extending downwardly 'from said drums between the narrow opening between the two sections oit the main girder and through the sheave or block connected with the ladle carrying bar and thence upwardly over the grooved pulleys 1G, 17, and from thence downwardly tothe ladle carrying bar. Thus it will be seen that the fleet of the main hoisting ropes is in a line parallel to the main girders and hence a narrow space between such girders suiiices for the proper operation of the main hoisting ropes.
At each end of the main trolley frame are journaled in suitable bearings the supporting wheels 6 and 7, the wheels 6 being mounted on rails 5 and the wheels 7 being mounted on the rails 5. Owing to the fact that these supporting wheels are located at the four corners of the main trolley frame, the latter will afilord sufficient flexibility to permit the weight of the main trolley and the load carried thereby to be equally distributed to the four sections of the girders which constitute the two main girders. rllhis construction is simple and efficient and renders unnecessary the use of transversely operating equalizing trucks.
Figs. 3 and et represent a modification for use in cranes of large capacity and in which it is desirable to distribute the weight of the main trolley and load carried thereby over a greater surface or extent of the main girdei's or tracks supported thereby, and to accomplish this the main trolley frame is s'upported at each end by swiveled trucks 18, 19, which are arranged parallel with the girders, as is clearly shown in the drawings. The wheels on the outer swiveled trucks run upon the rails of the outer' sections of the main girders while the wheels of the inner swiveled trucks located on the opposite side of the main trolley frame run upon the rails mounted upon the inner sections of the main girdeis.
It is evident that many slight changes in the construction and arrangement of the parts of our im irovement might be varied without departing from the invention and hence we would have it understood that we do not restrict ourselves to the particular construction and arrangement ef parts shown and described, lont,-
Having fully described our invention wh at we claim as new and desire to secure loy Letters-Patent, is:
l. In a ladle or double trolley crane, the combination with divided ina-in girders, of the inain trolley mounted on said girders, each end of the trolley being supported at one corner on one seetion only of a girder7 and at its opposite corner on the other section only of the saine girder.
2. lin a ladle or double trolley crane7 the combination with split or divided inain girders, of a main trolley provided with hoisting ropes extending downwardly loetween the sections of the Inain girders, each end of the trolley loeing` supported at one Corner on one section only of a girder, and
at its opposite corner on the other section only of the saine girder.
3. In a ladle or double trolley electric crane, the combination with split or divided inain girders7 of a niain trolley provided at one side with supportingwheels which are wholly supported by the outer sections of the main girder and at its opposite *sides with wheels which are supported wholly by the inner sections of the niain girders.
