FRIEDRICH SPEIDEL, OF PFORZHEIM, GERMANY.
ELASTIC LINK-BRACELET.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented April 27, 1909.
Application filed September 28, 1907. Serial No. 394,147.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRIEDRICH SPEIDEL, a
I subject of the German Emperor, residing at Pforzheim, Baden, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Elastic Link-Bracelets, of'which the followin is a specification.
vheinvention comprises an elastic linkbracelet without clasp with hollow coverlinks, in which, intermediate links which are under the influence of springs, are disposed.
- In the drawing, on an enlarged scale, partly in section, Fi ure 1 shows part of the racelet in unexten ed position, Figs. 2 and 3. are res ectively a plan and edge view in the extended position and Fig. 4 a cross-section. The bracelet consists essentially of the rinci a1 links a and the intermediate links T e intermediate links I) are rovided with l s vb so as to consist of doub eT-like bars, w 'ch are under the influence of springs c and are loosely located in the principal links. The Springs 0 are located on both sides in the longitudinal direction between the inner walls of the principal links and the longitudinal side edges of the intermediate intermediate links engage in the one end coils of thesprings,'but at the other end the latter that the pins (1 of the abut against the inside of the end walls of the rincipal links. By the engaging of the pins 2 in the springs the latter are uniformly and positively guided, and displacement is im ossible, when the springs are compressed uring the extending of the bracelet, Figs. 2 and 3, or when they extend automatically on releasing the bracelet when they return to their normal posltion and. the bracelet contracts, Fi 1.
The bracelet as well as the links themselves can be made in any size and shape and also be provided with designs.
What I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is An elastic link bracelet com rising in combination a series of cover lin s, connecting bars having T-shaped ends, pins projecting from one of said ends and coiled springs engaging said pins at one end and abuttlng against the inner surfaces of the cover links at the other end.
In witness whereof I have signed this specification in the presence of two witnesses.
