The electric motor will then operate to re wind the spring motor and to rotate the return feed screw i, thereby causing the reproducer arm or carrier to be raised and returned to itsnormal or starting position, as hereinbefore explained. During the return movement of the re reducer carrier, the'finger 21 will engage t 0 arm 20 and move the 'same from the position shown in dotted lines to that Sl'lOWIl'lIl full lines in Fig. 2, thereby turning the shaft 16 against the tension of the spring 26 and returning thelatch arm 22 to position to be engaged again by the shoulder 25 on the beam-24, in which position it will then be held by the shoulder 25, the coin having fallen from the inclined tray 27, and the position-ofthe beam be: again "determined b' the weight 29. 1. The combination with a phonograph, and means for automatically returning the reproducer carrier to starting position, of a friction brake for engaging a rotary member to sto the operation of operatingmechanism o the phonograph, means controlled by the return movement of the reproducer carrier for moving the brake into operative position, and means for moving the brake to release said rotary member and to im art a starting impulse thereto, substantia y as described. 1

The combination with a phonograph having a motor for actuating the phonograph in reproducing a record, of a sto device or normally preventing operation 0 the phonograph, a spring for retracting the stop device .forhold' the stop device in operative position and or releasing it to permit it to be retracted, and a second motor and connections for returning the stop device to operativeposition.
3. The combination with a phonograph having a motor for actuating the phonograph in reproducing a record, of a stop device or normally preventing operationo the phonograph, a second motor for storing power in the first said motor, means for retractin the stop device to permit the phonograp v to operate, means controlled'by the movement 0 a part actuated by the first motorfor causing the second motor to operate to store power in the first motor, and means operated y the power of the second motor for causing said stop device to return to operative position.

position, a stop device for co-acting with a driven member to stop the operation of operating mechanism of the phonograph, and means operated by the power of the second motor for moving the stop device into operative position after the completion of a reproducing operation of the phonograph.

The combination with a phonograph having a spring motor for actuating the phonograph in reproducing a record, of a stop device for normally reventing operation of the phonograph un er the influence of the s pring motor, an electric motor for rewinding t e spring motor, meansjor retracting said stop device to permit the phonograph to opcrate, means controlled by the movement of a part actuated by theispring motor for closing the circuit to the electric motor after the phonograph has made a predetermined operation, adjustable means for determining the amount of operation of the phonograph after which the circuit to the electric motor shall be closed, and means for returning the stop device to operative position after the completion of the predetermined operation of the honograph.
