Be it known that l, HARRY E. SANDERS, l a citizen of the United States, residing at Zanesville, in the county of Muskingum and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful lmprovements in Bottle-Filling Apparatus, of which the following is a speci- This invention contemplates certain new and useful improvements in apparatus for bottles and the object of the invention is an improved cut-oil' which is constructed of comparatively few parts that may be easily separated for cleaning purposes or the like, and which is designed to positively stopv the flow of li uid when such is desired, and thuselfectual y prevent the waste of such liquid by the bottles overfiowing. And a further object of the invention is an improved cut-oil of that type that embodies a separate passage to permit the the air from the bottle being filled and that is arranged to close the air passage simultaneously with cutting oil` the flow of the liquid and to thus prevent the ch is a most objectionable feature of cutoils of this type.
With this and other objects in view as will more fully appear as the description proceeds, the invention consists in certain conl structions and arrangements of parts that I shall hereinafter fully describe and then point out the novel features thereof in the appended claim. ln the practical use of my improved bottle g apparatus, the bottles B are positioned beneath the cut off with each rim bearing against a washer 9 and forming an air-tight joint therewith, the nip le 6 being received in the mouth of the bott e and spaced therefrom. An upward pressure is applied by any bottle such upward movement obviously raising the casin y and holding the lower end thereof in spacedD relation to the nipple. The liquid then flows from the liquid channel 3 and isdischarged the air in such bottle displaced by the li uid, escaping through the air assage 4.

As best villustrated in Fig. 1,' the milk or other bottles to be iilled are preferably supported in their case upon a vertically-movable bed or table D arranged to be raised by a foot-treadle d or the like so as to car the bottles upwardly into operative posltion. Manifestly, however, my invention is not limited to the apparatus in connection with a plurality of bottles or anymeans for pressing the bottle or bottles wainst thecasin 7..
