The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
` To all whom 'it may concern.-
Be it known that I, H.,MALLORY, of the city and county of Milwaukee, and "State of Wisconsin, have linvented a new :md useful Improvement in Stove- Dempers; and I do hereby declare that the following is a. full, clear, and exact description thereof', which will enable those skilled in the art to nienke and use the seme, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specifiezitiomin which- Figure 1 is a dat view of my invention, and Figure 2, a'setionel view in the line x x, iig. 1. Similar lettersl of reference in each of the figures indicate corresponding parts.
The nature of my invention is to provide a demper which shall be e'eetual for the purpose designed.
A is the dat portion of my invention. B, the openings through the demper. O, pinion, on one sidelof the damper, passing through the stove-pipe.
D, pinion and handle, on the other side of the damper.
'lhis damper is made of two pieces ofmetal, united together in the centre.
Operation.
Put the demper in the stove-pipe, and when you wish to cheek the draught, turn it up flatwise, and then the smoke will be obliged to pass through the openings B in the demper. When e free draught is desired, turn the damper up edgewise.
' What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is,-
A damper, constructed substantially as described.
