Be it known that I, ALFRED C. TYTLER, a
l citizen of the United States, residing atl Basin, in the county of Bighorn and State of Wyoming, have invented new and useful Improvements in Toys, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to toys, and the object of the invention is to provide a toy comprising a rectangular box having an upper and a lower compartment, the upper compartment being provided with a sliding door having a perforation near its rear end and an annular opening in its front wall, the compartment being adapted for the reception of perfumed iiour or powder, the lower compartment being provided with a suitable pipe, a small fan or wheel being pivotally connected to the rear of the box and having its blades in the path of the opening provided by the pipe, and the box being provided with a removable stem adapted to fit either the pipe member or the opening provided within the front wall of the uppercompartment, so that a person inserting the stem within the pipe will cause the rotation of the fan or wheel, and by removing the stem from the pipe and inserting it within the opening provided by the upper compartment and blowing within the stem will cause the powder within the compartment to be ejected through the opening provided by the slidable door and againstthe face of the person blowing within the stem.
To these ends the invention resides in the novelv construction and arrangement oit' elements, hereinafter fully described and claimed.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a trick box constructed in accordance with the present invention. Fig. 2 is a central longitudinal sectional view of the same. Fig. 3 is a top plan view of the same.
The main object of the present invention is to provide a trick box adapted to serve as a delusion whereby a person acquainted with the working of the device may cause the revolution of a fan or wheel connected with the device by blowing within the stem connected with the lower portion of the device, and by removing the stem from the lower portlon of the device and inserting it within an opening provided within an upper compartment of the device and oiiering the device to the person upon whom the delusion is to be practiced and causing him to blow within the device, flour or suitably perfumed powder will be ejected through a suitable opening provided in the upper compartment of the device towards the face of the person blowing into the device.
In the accompanying drawings the numeral 1 designates a rectangular box. This box 1 is provided with an upper compartment 2 and a lower compartment 3. The upper compartment 2 has its iront wall-provided with a suitable opening 4, and its top provided with an elon `ated cut away portion or opening adapte for the reception of a sliding cover 5. This cover 5 is provided with an opening 6 near its rear end adjacent the rear wall oi the upper compartment 2.
The lower compartment 3 is provided with a longitudinally extending pipe member 7, and the side walls oi the box 1 are provided with rearwardly extending arms Sdprovided with suitable perforations adapte for the reception of suitable trunnions provided upon a ian wheel 9.
A suitable stem 10 is provided for operat-v ing the device. This stem 10 is adapted to have one oi its ends tightly inserted within the iront end of the pipe or tube member 7,
and to likewise engage with the openin 4 of the compartment 2. The tube 7 is in irect alinernent with the blades oi the fan wheel 9, and by inserting the stem 10 within the tube 7 and blowing within the stem the Jian 9 will be caused to revolve upon its pivots in the direction oi the arrows illustrated in Fig. 2 of the drawings.
The upper compartment 2 is adapted for the reception of erfumed powder or iiour, which is insertedp within the compartment through the openin in the to wall oi the compartment provi Y ed by the s idin door 5, and should the stem 10 be removed rom osition within the tube 7 and inserted wit in the opening 4 provided by the front of the upper compartment and the stem blown into so as to cause air to enter the upper compartment 2, the flour within the compartment will be ejected through the openings 6, provided in the sliding cover 5, in the direction shown by the arrow in Fig. 2, and toward the face of the operator.
In order to direct the iiour directly against 1 0 door the face of the operator, an inclined chute or pipe 7 is employed, as clearly illustrated in the gures of the drawings.
Having thus fully described the invention what is claimed as new is:
