UNITED STA ItEiyeTENT OFFICE.
CLINTON F. MERRILL, OF HINSDALE, ILLINOIS.
CALENDAR.
Application filed February 10, 1908.
To all whom it may camera:
Be it known that I, CLINTON l MERRILL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Hinsdale, in the county ol Dupage and State of Illinois, have invented a certain new and usel'ul Improvement in Calendars, of which the following is a lull, clear, concise, and ex act ijlescription, rel'ercnee being had to the accompanying drawings, 'lorming a part of this specification.
My invention relates to calendars and involves a novel combination of day sheets and month sheets.
In accordance with my invention a block formed 01' day sheets is secured. to the top ol a backboard and each last day of the month sheet extended beyond the blocl; and printed with the month diagram, so that when the last day card ol a month is removed 'l'rom the block the particular month sheet will necessarily be also removed.
On the accompanying drawing, which shows the arrangement ol my invention, Figure 1 is a [rent view ol the calendar showing the first day ol' January and the January month diagram; Fig. 2 is a similar view, with thirty sheets, representing the list thirty days ol January, ren'ioved, and Fig. 3 is a side view of Fig. 1.
The calendar comprises the base or back card 1 having an eyelet or eyelets 2, to the top of which card is secured a block or pad 3 tori'ned. of sheets each printed to represent a day of the year. Below this block are Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Dec. 15, 1908.
Serial No. 15,060.
twelve month diagram sheets 4, each month sheet being integral with the upper sheet indicating the last day of that month. Each last day sheet extends below the block or pad and is printed with the corresponding month diagram. For example, as shown in Fig. 2, Friday, the 31st of January, is the last day of the month and appears at the top of a long sheet whose lower hall' is printed with the January month calendar diagram, so that both the day sheet and monthly calendar sheet must be torn from the block at the same time, or, in other words, the tearing ol' the block 01' each last day necessitates the removal of the corresponding month sheet. To enable the sheets to be readily torn l'rom the block, the sheets may be perl'm'ated along a line 5 near their upper edge.
I claim as new and desire to secure the following claim by Letters Patent In a calendar, the combination of a block or pad of sheets representing the individual days of a year, the sheets representing the last days of the months being longer than the other sheets and printed. with the corresponding monthly calendar diagram.
In witness whereof, I hereunto subscribe my name this sixth day of February A. D., 1908.
CLINTON F. MERRILL.
