` following specification. The present invention has tor its object a hydro extractor for a continuousand adjustable outputv` and intended for use in the manufacture of artificial silk and generally speaking in other industries such as sugar factories, refineries, ete. n
In order that the invention may be readily and clearly understood, the hydro extractor in question is shown by way of example as applied to the manufacture of artificial silk in the accompanying drawing, in which:

The wet cotton to'bel dried is supplied to the basket n through a passage cl arranged in the axis of the apparatus and above va distribution device c Fig. 3. vThe distributer consists of spirally wound flanges situated at the orificev of the passage d and having a pitch which is hardly appreciable at their upper part, which becomes more and niore iapid in proportion toward thebottom vof the basket.
The upper part of the hydro extractor is closed by a circularcover f from which the passage g serving for the discharge of the dried material runs tangentially.
This special form of hydro extractor permits of an adjustable discharge of the cotton by means of a knife h, Figs, 2 and 5, arranged in the lower part of the passage g.

Fig. 5, in such a manner as to give it not only an inclination gin the longitudinal direction of the passage, but also in the transverse direction. This plowshare arrangement. as will readily be understood, facilitates taking up cotton and discharging it through the passage g'. The portion of the passage which eouies `after the knife is cylindrical.
{I`he cotton to be dried which is introduced into the apparatus through the passage (Z f reaches the pallets c which distribute it over against the wall of the cone i and mounts it.A Another frustum of a lcone a. the large base' of which is common with that of the cone rv, stops the ascent of the cotton and prevents it from escaping in blocks. The cotton then forms a roll such as is represented in broken lines in Fig. 1 of the. accoinjiianying drawing; this tends to mount constantly and encounters the cutting part /i 71 of the knife. l`he cutting device consists of-a plate which is adjnstably borne in longitudinal guides provided in the passage g. I-laving now particularly described and ascertained the nature of our said invention and in what manner the same is to be performed, We declare that what we claim is l. The herein described hydro-extractor for continuons and adjustable output, coinprising a basket with a biconic Wall and a conical bottom, an axial passage projecting into the basket and 'through which the material enters the fatter, a distribution device prising a basket with a biconic wall and a conical bottom, an axial passage projecting into the basket and through which the matevrial en ters the latter, a distribution device at the origin of said passage, a cover for the said basket, adischarge passage tangential thereto, and means at the origin of said passa e for facilitating the discharge of the dried material through the said passage, substantially as set forth.

The herein described hydro-extractor for continuous and adjustable output coniprising a rotary basket with a biconie Wall and a conical bottom, an axial passage projecting intotlie basket and through which the material enters the latter, a distribution I device at the origin of said passage, the said distribution device consisting of spirally Wound ianges, the itch of which becomes more and more rapi towards the bottom of the basket, a cover for the latter and a discharge passage tangential to the said cover, substantially as setforth.

The herein described hydro-extractor g for continuous and adjustable output coinprising a rotary basket with a biconic wall and a conical bottoni, an axial passage pronjecting into the basket and through' which i the material enters the latter, a distribution device at the origin of said passage, the said distribution device consisting of spirally wound flanges, the pitch of which becomes more and more rapid towards the bottom of the basket, a cover for the latter, a discharge passage tangential to the said cover, and means at theorigin of said passage for facilitating the discharge of the dried material 5. The herein`described hydro -exti'actor for continuous and adjustable output, coniprising a rotary basket having a biconic wall and a conical bottom, an axial passage p ro f jecting into the said basket through which 'the material enters the latter, a distribution device at the origin of said passage, the said distribution device consisting of spirally wound iianges, the pitch of which becomes more and more rapid towards the bottoni of the basket, a cover for the latter, a discharge passage tangential tothe said cover and an adjustable knife in the form of a plow share at the origin of said discharge passage to facilitate the collection and discharge of thc dried material, substantially as set forth.
