To all whom it my camera:
New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Seats, of which the following isa specification, accompanied by drawings.
- This invention relates to seats, which ma j be used for any purpose to which they are applicable, as for instance, chair seats, car
seatsahd other purposes;
The object of the invention is'to improve upon the construction of such seats and" increase their strength and durability with simplicity ofparts.
Further objects of the invention will hereinafter-appear and to these ends the invention consists of a seat for carryingout the above objects embodying the features of construction, combinations of elements-and arrangement of parts having the general mode of oneration'substantially as hereinafter fully described and claimed in this specification and shown in the accompany in%drawings, in which,

Referring to the drawings A represents a suitable frame shown; in this instance as circular, although it may be of anydesired shape as sqhare, rectangular, trapezoidal, or other forms designedfor the particular purpose intended. The frame isipreferably'of sheet metal and between said frame and 'the" binding portion or ring B of sheet metal, the body portion 0 of the seat is firmly locked or secured without the use of rivets and without projectin points which are liable to tear the flexi'b e structure of the seat.
' As shown, the main frame portion Acomprises a piece of sheet metal having the portion of the frame. The binding portion B co'mprises apiece of metal adapted to cooperate with the frame A and provided with- :agroove G adapted to fit over the rolled rim of'the frame. The inner edge H of the binding portion 3 preferably extends inwardly'beyond the 11 per edge of the upper portion A and is a so preferably'curved as shown in order to prevent the edge fromcutting into the material of the seat. The main portion I of the binding frame B is adapted to be seated in the groove E of the main frame as shown in Fig. 4..

As an article of manufacture, an attachable chair seat comprising a continuous seamless ringcut from a sheet of metal, a sheet of flexible woven cane or similar material laid over said ring with its edge bent; over the edge of the ring, and an outer continuous seamless ring cut; from a sheet of metal and laid over the material with the outer edge of said ring bent over the inturned edge of the materal, the inner edges of the outer ring falling short; of the inner edge of the binding ring.
