Application filed August 5, 1908. Serial No. 447,062.
Be it known that I, GEORGE SNYDER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of and State of Maryland, have invented certain new and useful improvements iii Egg-Beatlowing is a specification.
This invention is an improved egg beater and cream whipper adapted for application either to jar nec 's or bottle necks in order that it may be conveniently operated to whip milk or creain within the jar or-bottle in which the sunie'is su iplied by the dairyinan, and said jars or bott es may be used for the beating of eggs; and the invention consists, in certain novel constructions, and combinations of parts as will be hereinafter described and claimed, I In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspectiveview of the invention ap lied to a jar, a 01'- tion of the latter being lir'oken awav. l ig. 2 is a vertical longitudinal section of the attachment applied to a jar. Fi 3 is a detail plan view of a carrier disk. l ig. 4 is a sec-: tional view of the attacl'inientapplied to abottle neck, the latter being indicated in dotted lines. Fig. 5 is a top )lan view of a blank for the main plate, and ig. 6 is an iiivortcd pcrs )ective view of the main plate.
' 1n the illustrated embodiment of the iiiveiition I provide ii niain plate A, having a generally circular form or outline sit-A, provided with an outer circular series of depending hws A" to engage the outside of the jar neck 1?, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, having a laterallyextending wing A beyond the guiorally circular outline A of the plate and fU|'lIlllI a support for the diive gear presently l escribcd, and also provides for an iiiiier circular series of (lepeinling lugs A" surrounding a central opening A", and concentric with the outer circular series of lu s A as will be undeistood from Figs. undo of the drawings. In constructing this main plate, I form a blank as shown in Fig 5, in which the several slits A, A and A are formed in a common )laiie, and the lugs A and A are bent from t 10 said common lane i in the dis osition and form shown in Fig. (3. l In Fig. 5 tie body of the plate is cut or slim-d j at AHo sc iii-rate the portions which are subsecueiitl v will in form the lugs A", as shown i'plaic and nicshcd with the The lateral wing A has an opening A inwhich the shaft C of the wheel (J fits, and the said wheel may be provided with a handle (3* to facilitate its operation. This particular construction is important as it provides for;
supporting the wheel entirely o ntsid'e'of the vessel, whether the same'be a jar as shown in Fi s. 1 and 2, or a bottle as show-n iii'Fig. 4.
When the attachment. is applied as shown in Figs. 1 and 2,- the lugs A notonly operate to en age the neckof the vessel, but also iorms handholes to b'e'cla's attaclnne'nt to the vesse' the lugs being curved as shown to-aflord a better hold by the operator. ing A? which receives the drift rivet D, the latter journaling midway between its ends to the main plate, and being corrugated to re-' ccive atits upper end the inion E ineshcd with the drive wheel C, am atits lower end the carrier Fdwhich is ei'ioi'ated at F to fit on the drift rivet, and at F to receive the wires G of the dasher, the said wires extending upwardl i through the disk F and being headed at tieir upper ends at G past tho. --said disk in order to secure them in position, i
a washer H bearing between the headed upper ends of the wires G as shown in Figs. 2 and 4 ol' the drai'viiigs.
This is a simple, economical way of construction and assembling tllc parts and provides a practicaland cllicioiitlv operating coiistructioi'i for thcdcsircd purpose.
The construction.- can be made at a small expense and can be shipped and sold either set up ready for use or knocked down and llt assembled for use by the purchaser.
claiiii ed in securing the The main plate has the open.
