the sheet metal Walls of the button heard A iii-e indented, when the tube (i is entered into'the button head A, as shown in Figs. 1
To all whom it mag cmicern;
Be itqknown that ,I, 'Grnnnnr W. Goonnmon, a. citizen of the United States of America, residin in the city of Bri geport, and 2.
in the county 0 Feirfield, in the btate of Connecticut, have invented'certuin new and useful Improved Push-Buttons for Electric Switches, of which the following is a specification. i
The object of my invention is to provide a simple and inexpensive construction-of push button for electric push switches of either the two button or one button type. This object I attaiinby the construction of push button hereinafter described-arid claimed. i
In the accompanying drawing Figure 1 is :i vertical section of part of a. twopush but ton switch, embodying my invention; Fig. 2 isn sect ion on the line 2--2, Fig. 1 and Fig. l is a erspective View of the stem.
Ordinarily the push buttons of electric switches are made of composition molded onto metal stems, and their manufacture is somewhat expensive. To lessen the "host, I mukc the head of the button of drawn sheet metal, as shown at A, (A Fig. l, and with i such drawn sheet metal head I combine The outer faces of these sheet metal button heads are preferably jilp-itlllflyl nm'l suit-- able -n1enns are off button from the "on button in the case of attwo button switch, Thum s shown at A in Fig. l, the 0n button may have disk a riveted to the top of the button head, n depression being in such case formed in the top of the button to receive the disk.
I. claim my inventionl. A push button for electric switches, comprising a sheet metal button head in combination with a stem havin n tubular head with openings into which t e metal of the button head is indented.
2. A push button for electric switches, comprising a sheet metal button head in combination with a stem hanging it heed formed of arms bent into a split tube with openings into which the metal of the button head is indented;
'ln testimony whereof I have signed my 112M118 lo this specification, in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
