HOT-WATER-SERVICE ATTACHMENT TO THE BURNERS OF GAS-HEATER STOVES ORw TO THE GAS-RINGS USED FOR HEATING POTS, IRONS, &c.
, Stoves or to the Gas-Rings Used for Heating Pots, Irons, or the Lik'; and I do hereby ie-- clare the following to be a full,'clear, and exactdescription of the same.
My invention relates to improvements in p the burners of gas heated stoves or to the gas rings for heating pots irons or the like, inwhich means are provided whereby the heat given ofi' from the burners maybe util-v i'zed for boiling water at the same time as being used for other purposes. v 7
Various hot Water service attachments for gas heated stoves and the like have been used hitherto, and my present invention has reference to that type of hot Water service attachment in which a ring or pi e is suitably connected to a water tank an is adapted. to be heated by the gas ring or thelike when in use.
Iii-order that my invention may bemore readilyiin'derstood I will refer to the accompanying drawings in which I 1gure 1 shows a side elevation of m 1 1n'-' vention applied to a gas ring; Fig. 2rs"ows a plan of Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 is a large sectional view of the gas ring surrounding the water ring. v
, In applyingrmyinvention to aburner of a gas-heated stove I eonstruct'twopipes, onewithin the other, the innenpipe adapted to contain water. The gas pipe will thus surround the inner circle or 1pc, and the outer pipe will be provided wit the usualjets or openings in the ordinary manner, Thewae Specification of Letters Patent.
1907. Serial No. 870,756.
ter pipe will be supplied with water froni a suitable tank or reservoir placed in any convenient place, and will'be connected thereto by inlet pipes. Since hot water rises, the outlet pipe will be carried to a higher level in the reservoir than that from which the inflow pipe leads, and a circulation of Water will thus be obtained.
a is an ordinary gas ring and b is the water pipe, constructed with a loop at its middle 'ortion, which loop is concentric with and is inclosed in the gas ring a in the manner" shown in Fig. 3, the two ends of thewater pipe being adapted to pass into a tank 6. This tank e is preferably constructed so that it can be easily carried about from one place to another. It may be provided with a tap f. One end of the water pipe 1) extends to a high level in the tank and 18 used for carrying the hot water to a higher level therein than the receiving end of the pipe, in order to keep up a' constant circulation of the water in the branches of the pipe and through the loop.
Thus tube 11 will be heated and the water therein will circulate to the higher end of the tube, said end opening into the water tank, andthereby heat, which would otherwise be wasted,.is put to a useful purpose.
What I claim is: a
In combination, a water tank,'a gas ring and a Water pipe having a, loop incloscd within andconcentric of said gas ring, the ends ofthe water pipe aforesaid opening to the interiorof said tank.
