To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT T. NEWMAN, a citizen of the United States," residing at Greeley, in the county of Anderson and State of Kansas, have invented a new and useful' Improvement inLGas-Regulators, of which the `follovvingis a specification.
This inventionv relatesl generally to igas regulators and more particularly to a regu- -lator adapted for use in connection with a gas main, the object, being to provide a low pressure gas regulator specially useful upon natural gas mams and useful for 'the house, oiiceor any other place where an even flow of gas is required. y V
Another object of the invention is to `pro-r vide a gas regulator in which the parts shall be so constructed and arranged that leakage will be impossible and one in which the slightest variation from normal pressure will serve to operate the valves and with these objects in view, the invention consists.

. In the practical embodiment of my invention, l employ-a box-like casing A having an opening A at one side which opening is surrounded by a threaded box A2 into which screws the (delivery pipe B. The opposite side 4of the casing is flan ed as shown at' A3 and securely bolted to this flange side of the casing is a metal plate C suitable packing C being interposed to provide an. absolutely tight joint. The u per end of the casing A,is provided with a iaphragm 'chamber consisting of the integral'lower portion H and the upper por-v tion H securely bolted to the lower portion and rigidly holding the diaphragm I, between the two sections, and rigidly connected to the said diaphragm is a vertically dependingistem =K, carrying the valves L and M thereon, one of said valves being arranged in the valve box and the other below the said valve box as shown and it will be noted that the valve stem is guided in its movements by means of the guide brackets N attached to the top and bottom of the box as most clearly shown.

It will thus be seen that I provide an ex'- ceedingly simple strong and durableform of gas regulator, one which will effectively cut oil' the flow of gas the moment the pressure becomes abnormal, one in which the possibility of leakage is reduced to a minimum and one ywhich owing to small number of parts and simplicity of construction, will be rendered easy and efficient in operation.
